Delicious Sounds in SO:To Speak

How exciting to be part of Southampton’s first ever Literary Festival, SO:To Speak! The choir together with Southampton Folk Orchestra accompanied Mike O’Leary in his imaginative, active telling of the story of Bevis of Hamtun at The Hub in City College. It is wonderful to celebrate our city’s history and we now have a new translation of the legend from the 14th century document by Lynn Forest-Hill. We were widely congratulated for our evocative rendition of Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof and as usual, the choir enjoyed singing the rousing traditional Zulu song, Ziyamazumekisi with Sandra and her amazing ululations. Don’t worry! The words of the song were much simpler than the title. After half term we are beginning our Christmas repertoire ready for three performances.
