I find the process of teaching songs to a choir fascinating. I enjoy the challenge of handing over each song part to you singers, then the enjoyment (and relief!) when you sing the parts back to me in 3 or 4 part harmony, mostly with frowns of concentration on your faces.
My co-teacher, Sandra, is a real asset to the process. She and I have spent many a hysterical hour working through the abridged score of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, laughing our way through the sticky bits and hoping that we will retain the knowledge when we get to choir.
There are 3 rehearsals left before Delicious Sounds Choir first performances. The next few weeks will be about polishing and toning the songs we have taught you. The rest is up to you, so please learn your words and song parts so we can give a bright, confident performance at Southampton Art Gallery, the Nuffield Theatre and West Quay.
